THE RCHM CONFERENCE 2017

'HEALING TRAUMA'

10th-12th November 2017

Imperial College, London

Pax Lodge, London

Treating Trauma, Healing Wounds

The conference theme this year is 'Healing Trauma'. We are very fortunate to have Dr Karl Zippelius as our keynote speaker and full day lecturer. An expert in the treatment of physical trauma with the application of both external and internal herbal formulas, he is ideally suited to speaking to the conference theme. In the keynote lecture, he will lay out his vision for the future of Chinese medicine and the role that its treatment of sports injuries and trauma has to play. His full day lecture on the Sunday will be a deep dive into treating trauma with Chinese herbs and a clear exposition of the three stages of wound healing. As an enlightening complement to Dr Zippelius's modern clinical take on trauma, Lorraine Wilcox will introduce us to the treatment of trauma from the works of the Ming dynasty physician Xue Ji. David Wilson will explore a wider concept of trauma, emphasising the links between mental and physical trauma and speaking to the mind-body connection in clinical practice. In addition to our trauma series lectures, we are delighted to host two lecturers speaking on their own topics of expertise. Lei Zhou An will lead us on a journey through all the many different dimensions of the herb Ling Zhi. Eric Brand will give us a definitive guide to all the different issues and debates around the use of granules, demystifying a topic which is challenging and puzzling for all of us as practitioners. He will also be giving a special lecture for RCHM members only at the AGM, 'Fascinating Facts about Tonics'.

AGM & GROUP SHARING SESSION

Friday 10th November, 1-5:30pm Pax Lodge, London RCHM Members Only Free
The Annual General Meeting is your chance as a member to connect to what is going on in the organisation and to other members. It is also a great forum where you can share your ideas and opinions. For this reason we feel that its an important and enriching event in the calendar and we'd like to encourage as many members as possible to join us. This year's AGM will be a particularly special one for the following reasons. Firstly, this year marks the 30th Anniversary of the RCHM so it will be an extra special time to come together as an organisation. Secondly, as you will be aware, a consultation on the future direction of the RCHM was initiated earlier this year. This will be a good opportunity to discover what feedback came back and be part of this important conversation. Thirdly, as with previous years we will be continuing the popular group discussion session. Finally, we have arranged a special talk for RCHM members only to be given by Eric Brand. Eric has graciously decided to make the long trip over here to the UK to join us and share his insights and knowledge. The title of the talk is : Fascinating Facts about Tonics: Uncover the world beyond the textbook  You can find out more about this talk here. As always the AGM is free for RCHM members, but you must sign up through this website. Click here to book.

VIDEO RECORDINGS & REMOTE ATTENDANCE

http://conference.rchm.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/camera-662129_960_720-300x200.jpg
All attendees of the Saturday lecture day will be emailed links to videos of all of the Saturday lectures after the conference. You will be able to watch these videos for 6 months after the conference so you won't miss out and will be able to see every lecture and speaker. This does not apply to the Sunday lecture.
For the first time we will be selling a 'Remote Attendance' ticket for RCHM members only. Many of our members find it difficult to make the conference due to distance or other unavoidable commitments. For the price of £60 you will be able to purchase access to the videos of the 5 Saturday lectures. These will be made available once they have been edited after the conference. However, we do encourage members to physically attend if they can because we feel that coming together as a community, meeting new and old friends alike and allowing other members to benefit from your presence is equally, if not more important than the lecture content. Please note that the Friday AGM lecture and the Sunday full day lecture will not be recorded. The videos will consist of lecturer audio, audience questions and the powerpoints used by the presenter. The lecturers will not be filmed.
